Fileen is a private, local-first file manager, media player, and on-device media utility for iPhone and iPad.
Fileen+ is an optional auto-renewable subscription. It unlocks Quick Cues 5 to 8, extends the Tempo range beyond ±25%, and removes all advertising from the app. Everything else in Fileen — including all Smart Tools and all downloading — is free and stays free.
Managing or cancelling. Fileen+ is billed by Apple, so it is managed in your Apple Account, not in Fileen. On your device open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Fileen+. From there you can change plan or cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Restoring a purchase. If you reinstall Fileen or move to a new device, open Settings → Fileen+ in the app and tap Restore Purchases. This asks Apple for subscriptions already associated with your Apple Account.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, so we cannot issue a refund directly. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides refunds under its own policies.
If Fileen+ ends. Nothing you saved is deleted. Your files stay exactly where they are. Quick Cues 5 to 8 that you already saved are kept on the device and simply become inaccessible until Fileen+ is active again — they are not erased. Your chosen Tempo Range setting is also kept; the Tempo control just stops at the free ±25% limit again.
The free version of Fileen may show advertising supplied by Google AdMob: a banner in the ordinary app screens, and one full-screen advertisement after you start a download that begins successfully. Advertising never appears because you used a Smart Tool, converted or compressed a file, made a PDF, changed Tempo, used Quick Cues, or opened Settings.
Fileen runs advertising in Google's limited mode. In that mode Google disables personalisation and every feature that needs a local identifier — no audience targeting, no remarketing, no interest-based categories, no conversion tracking, no frequency capping. Ads are chosen from the context of the request, not from a profile of you. Fileen also never asks for tracking permission, so the advertising identifier is never available.
What that does not mean is that nothing is processed. Delivering any ad requires your device to contact Google, so Google receives your network connection information including an IP address — from which an approximate city-level location can be derived — and Google may use limited on-device storage to detect fraudulent traffic. We would rather say that plainly than claim more than is true.
Where required in your region, Fileen shows Google's consent screen before advertising is requested, and you can reopen your advertising privacy choices from within the app at any time. Fileen+ removes advertising entirely.
Fileen is built to keep your files on your device. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means, including what the advertising SDK processes in the free version.
